Sustainability

At Expo Event Services, we're not just building exhibitions — we’re building a greener future!

Our journey toward sustainability is about more than ticking boxes; it’s about making conscious eco-friendly choices that really matter.

Road mapping our future!

In 2023, EES signed the Net Zero Carbon Pledge for the Events Industry pledge committed to focusing on reducing, reusing and recyclable sustainability strategy.

To begin our journey and keep up to date with our process to support the goal of net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050 we are…

Eliminating single-use

Single-use Medium-Density Fibreboard (MDF) is out.

By changing the way we deliver our exhibitions, EES has decided to remove the use of MDF in its custom build range, by utilising fabrics that are machine washable, reusable, durable, and with a smaller storage and transportation footprint.

And fully recyclable at its end-of-life cycle at a Resource Recovery Facility (RRF) where it is turned into a Processed Engineered Fuel (PEF), a substitute for environmentally harmful fossil fuels.

Printing Responsibly

EES utilise ECOBoard, a Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certified Forest Product, for printing Graphic Wall Panels, fascia’s and some signage. ECOBoard is entirely recyclable.

Lighting Efficiencies

Exhibitions: we have introduced brand new LED – energy efficiency and low power consumption exhibition lighting, which provides optimal lighting and services up to 30 booths from a single 10-amp power supply.

Warehouse: Low-energy LED lighting and warehouse skylights are installed throughout the warehouse and office area.

On the way to Zero Landfill

Once the inevitable of a product shelf life is reached, products are decommissioned in a strict order to ensure zero landfill:

  • Refurbishing and repurposing – can the product be altered to be reused for a different purpose for instant, bar table tops machined down to smaller sizes.
  • Donated to not-for-profit / social enterprises organisations for reuse
  • Lastly, it is deconstructed, with each section responsibly recycled.

Roadmap and Training

  • A five-year sustainability roadmap is in development and will be released in early 2025
  • Staff Net Zero awareness training implemented.
  • Supplier chain awareness and selection process is underway with focus on companies that are B Corp certified

Move to a Fit for purpose warehouse

At the beginning of 2025 EES moved to a newly built warehouse, this along with change of practise we have achieved the following:

  • Provisions for electric vehicles have been laid
  • All electrical whitegoods have 4+ energy rating
  • Time-controlled ducted air conditioning
  • All-in-one computer systems reduce the power drain & shut down processes out of hours
  • Digital filing in a cloud base system to reduce paper load and low eco print options are set within the printing process
  • General products recycle system in office and warehouse is installed
  • Everyday cleaning items replaced with sustainable alternatives
